Yet it is somewhat limited in terms of variation and not so much in terms of parts that you can use for your job, but more about what is around it. At the time of writing, there is only one canvas available that has already been filled in in terms of environment (three more environments will follow via a free update). As it were, you waltz right through it with your track sections to create a cross route. That feels a bit crazy, because it feels so random. In fact, the basic environment is an apple orchard in which you pontifically build a cross track. An advantage is that the environment is always automatically provided with details, but a disadvantage is that it looks a bit strange. Especially when parts of the route have been laid across an asphalt road. You cannot set the height differences yourself, either.

In addition to the career mode, you have a multiplayer that allows you to compete against others. It is not much more than that. Fortunately, the possibilities don’t stop there, because two other options are the Track Editor and the Playground mode. In the first you get the opportunity to put together your own job and that is done in a fairly simple way, so that everyone – young and old – can work with it. You can then test this job extensively and if the entire setup is as desired, you can share it online just as you can download jobs from others. In time, this should ensure an endless stream of new content. You will complete the official championship in this and that will provide plenty of entertainment. Mainly thanks to the variation in the courses and the pretty cool gameplay, which feels just a bit more refined than last year. A tip is also to put the physics directly on simulation. This feels better and more nuanced than standard setting, which provides a bit more static movement. Besides that, the level system is of course part of your career, so that you can gradually switch to another sponsor. However, this does not have much more to offer.Īt least not in career mode. So it is the well-known mode in its simplest form without too much fuss. That might be nice for sports enthusiasts, because you don’t have to deal with all kinds of peripheral matters. At the same time, we should note that it is very limited, because if you put this mode next to career modes of other games, then the conclusion is that it is very thin. A well-known point, as it also applied to the same mode in the earlier parts. In that sense, Milestone has also focused more on gameplay than on expansion, thus creating the compact whole. Limited careerĪs mentioned, the career mode is the primary activity in MXGP 2020. The better you perform, the more experience points you get and with that you will level up. This is necessary, because the higher your level, the better sponsors you can attract. It doesn’t have much to do, but it can be lucrative. A sponsor that becomes available at a higher level pays out more with good performances and that is of course good for the wallet. It is a nice level system, but it must be said that it does not add much to the overall gameplay and that is because MXGP 2020 is a very compact game, just like previous parts. MXGP 2020 follows the line of its predecessors and that is to offer a primary mode: the career. This is the mode in which you will spend by far the most time, traveling all over the world to participate in official races. This way you visit Italy several times, you also visit the Netherlands, Turkey is of course not lacking and this is how you go on a nice trip. This of course produces a wide variety of jobs, all of which have been recreated according to their real-life equivalent. As is the case in the real championship, in MXGP 2020 you will also have to run twice every race and depending on your position you score points for the general classification.
